Dr. Kai Lankinen
Senior Lecturer
Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Finland

Dr. Kai Lankinen has over 25 years of experience in packaging printing. He serves as a Senior Lecturer in Packaging Converting and Printing at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in Finland and as a Docent at DHBW University of Karlsruhe and Stuttgart Media University (HdM) in Germany, where he mentors future professionals in sustainable packaging technologies.

Dr. Lankinen is an internationally recognized consultant, advising printers and brand owners on improving efficiency and advancing sustainability through Expanded Gamut (ECG) printing. He founded Dr. Lankinen Graphic Innovations Ltd, is a co-owner and former CEO of a leading Nordic repro house, and is a founding member of the Global Premedia Network (GPN). 

His career includes roles as Factory Manager at a flexible packaging printing company and co-founding the Finnish Packaging Printing Committee, which he also chaired. In 2021, Dr. Lankinen published his doctoral thesis, “Evaluation of Expanded Gamut Printing in Flexography,” further solidified his role as a leader in sustainable packaging printing.
